FIRE DESTROYS MOBILE HOME NEAR FISHER ROAD

October 22, 2025 9:20 a.m.

A fire destroyed a mobile home northwest of Roseburg on Tuesday morning.

Battalion Chief Nick Wecks of Central Douglas Fire & Rescue said at approximately 11:10 a.m. crews were dispatched to the fire off Fisher Road in the Garden Valley area. Wecks said a vehicle was still in the driveway of the home when first responders arrived. A caller that was passing by had stopped and notified the resident of the mobile home before calling 911.

While responding, crews were notified that no one should be inside, and explosions were starting. The resident said he was asleep and woke up to the person knocking at his front door. Initial crews on scene reported a fully involved single-story residence, declared a defensive strategy and established command.

Wecks said crews got a quick initial exterior fire attack and additional crews were able to get the fire knocked down. No injuries were reported by firefighters working at the scene.

CDF&R responded with 5 pieces of fire equipment and three command units, totaling 16 paid and volunteer personnel. Sutherlin Fire Department responded with a water tender. Wecks said due to the heavy fire damage, crews could not determine the cause of the fire. Pacific Power staff assisted at the fire scene.
