A transient was jailed for a reported assault incident on Monday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:45 p.m. 39-year-old Felicia Kelley was visiting at a victim’s house in the 1700 block of Reuben Road in the Glendale area. Kelley reportedly attacked the victim in the living room. The victim was able to get away from the suspect, who ended up outside. Kelley then allegedly forced her way through the front door and started assaulting the victim again. This time punching her in the head, kneeing her in the head, biting her thumb and pulling her hair. The fight continued on the front porch where the victim started screaming for help.
The report said a neighbor who lives several hundred yards away heard the disturbance and responded to help. The neighbor said that when she got to the residence, Kelley had the victim on the ground with a handful of her hair. The suspect finally let go and dropped a baseball size wad of the victim’s hair onto the porch. Kelley was gone before law enforcement arrived.
Kelley was later located walking on Reuben Road. She admitted to the fight but said she was only defending herself. She did not have any injuries to support her story. Kelley was charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and strangulation. She was detained without bail.
