Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft and trespass incident on Monday morning.

An RPD report said at 8:00 a.m. officers contacted the 45-year-old after he was allegedly witnessed stealing from a store in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The suspect allegedly took two boxes of Mike and Ikes, two Hershey bars and two Starbucks coffees.

The man said that he took the items, because he did not have the money to pay for them. He was charged with third-degree theft and first-degree criminal trespass. The man was detained without bail.
