Sutherlin Police jailed a man for an alleged DUII incident on Wednesday night.

An SPD report said at 10:30 p.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop on a pickup headed north on Interstate 5, near the main Sutherlin exit at milepost 135. The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Mike Desirey, reportedly accelerated to a speed of 120 miles per hour. Desirey was eventually stopped and taken into custody.

He was charged with attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while suspended or revoked. Desirey was detained without bail.
