Roseburg Police charged a man with thefts from two stores on Monday night.

An RPD report said just after 7:30 p.m. employees from Sherm’s Thunderbird Market and WinCo Foods, in the 2700 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway said that 58-year Eric Beardslee had taken multiple items from their stores. Beardslee was contacted outside of WinCo next to a shopping cart full of items. He admitted to officers that he did not pay for them.

Officers were informed that Beardslee had previously been trespassed from WinCo before the thefts. He was taken into custody and transported to corrections. A medical clearance was required. Beardslee was then transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center.

He was charged with second and third-degree theft and for trespass. He was cited and released at Mercy.
