A Roseburg man was jailed on assault and drug charges on Saturday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:00 a.m. 56-year-old Joseph Castelluccio was located at Swiftwater Park in the Idleyld Park area, removing cans from a trash bin. Castelluccio was contacted and allegedly attempted to dispose of a used methamphetamine pipe. When a deputy attempted to detain the man, he reportedly refused to comply.
Castelluccio was taken to the ground and ultimately detained in handcuffs. A search of his wallet allegedly resulted in 3 grams of methamphetamine being located. Castelluccio was charged with fourth-degree assault, harassment, resisting arrest and a felony count of unlawful possession of meth. He was detained without bail.
