State Representative Virgil Osborne called the passage of House Bill 3991 a “slap in the face to working families” in a written statement Monday.
Osborne, a republican from Roseburg, said “While Oregonians are already struggling with high costs, Democrats just voted to make it even more expensive to drive to work, take your kids to school, or run a small business.”
He continued to say “HB 3991 isn’t about fixing roads — it’s about funding bureaucracy with zero accountability. There were no real cost controls, no reforms, and no serious attempt at bipartisan compromise.
We could have invested in infrastructure responsibly. Instead, Democrats chose the easy path: tax more, spend more, and ignore the consequences. Oregonians deserve better than this.”
