“Ghosts of Roseburg” tours offered in October

Sept. 26, 2025 10:20 a.m.

With October and Halloween on the horizon, folks looking for a fright can put a “Ghosts of Roseburg” tour on their calendar.

Event organizer Val Gordon said the tours bring to life downtown Roseburg’s dark and colorful spirits. Tour guides will take groups on an approximately 1.5 hour immersive experience that visits numerous haunted and historic sites.

Four VIP tours will be offered on Oct. 18th  and 25th for $79 per person. Those 15-person tours include a prime rib dinner and entertainment at the Elks Club.

Two 20-person tours will be offered Oct. 17th and 24th for $42 per person.

Gordon said “You will hear true talks from the 1850’s when Roseburg was somewhat of a wild west town complete with street shootouts, to the 1950’s Golden Era when the Roseburg Blast occurred. Some stories are inspiring and others quite morbid.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online.

All proceeds from the event will support the Roseburg Optimist Club’s youth programs, including “Chalk Art in the Park,” school snack packs, school hygiene kits and the club’s Safety Day Program.

Members of the Optimist Club along with the Umpqua Community College Theater Arts students will be volunteering their talents to support the event.
