RPD arrests man for allegedly starting a fight

A Roseburg man was arrested after allegedly starting a fight with a manager at a local business in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard Wednesday.

The RPD report says that the 41-year-old man was accusing the manager of selling children and was getting more aggressive. The man allegedly punched the manager, who reportedly delivered a knockout punch in self-defense.

The 41-year-old man was reported to have suffered a cut to the back of his head as he hit the ground. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he denied all treatment and was aggressive with staff, according to police.

The man was transported to Douglas County Corrections on charges of harassment and second degree disorderly conduct. Once in custody he allegedly demanded to be taken back to Mercy.

He is currently listed in custody on $5,000 bail.
