Sept. 25, 2025 9:10 a.m.

The Douglas Forest Protective Association will resume prescribed burning Thursday around the Umpqua Basin.

DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said the relative humidity will fall within the safety range for prescribed fires, allowing the organization the opportunity to perform four burns in the area.

Prescribed burns will begin at 11 a.m. in the 1,000 block of French Creek Road and Single Tree Lane in Glide. Crews will start burning at noon in the 2300 block of Olalla Road in Winston.

Two fires will begin at 1 p.m. One will be in the 10,0000 block of North Umpqua Highway in Roseburg and the other will be done in the 400 block of Crouch Road in Oakland.

DFPA has another prescribed burn scheduled for Saturday off Sunshine Road in Roseburg.
