Roseburg Police jailed a man on the charge of 4th degree felony assault on Saturday night.

An RPD report said at 9:00 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of Northeast Sunset Street. They learned that a 33-year-old allegedly bit a victim on the head during an argument. The man reportedly bit her hard enough that there were cuts in the outline of his jaw on her scalp and it was still causing her pain an hour after the disturbance. The assault was witnessed by minor children at the residence

The man was detained without bail.
