SINGLE VEHICLE INCIDENT LEADS TO POWER OUTAGE

A single vehicle incident led to a power outage on Tuesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 1:00 p.m. a 48-year-old Idaho man was turning a commercial motor vehicle around in the parking lot of a business in the 8500 block of Highway 99 South between Winston and Dillard when the vehicle ran over the ground wire for a power pole. This caused a transformer to be damaged, which resulted in the outage for power customers in that area.

No citations were issued by DCSO.
