Roseburg Police jailed a woman for an alleged assault incident on Friday.

An RPD report said at 11:00 a.m. officers contacted the mother of a juvenile who had facial injuries. After an investigation, officers learned that a 26-year-old woman, who was the biological father’s girlfriend, had allegedly slapped and bit the face of the juvenile after discovering him sucking on his fingers while he was sleeping, which enraged the suspect.

Officers observed substantial bruises and bite marks on the juvenile’s face. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to corrections. She was charged with third-degree assault and first-degree criminal mistreatment. The woman was detained without bail.
