AIR QUALITY ALERT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING

September 6, 2025 6:30 a.m.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect through Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. for eastern Douglas County.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said the Alert is for Roseburg, Winchester, Sutherlin, Umpqua and Green. It also applies to Diamond Lake, Toketee Falls, Steamboat and Tiller.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels.

Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. People at risk include infants and young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and those who are pregnant.

Residents should follow local burn restrictions to prevent deteriorating air quality. Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during periods of poor air quality.
