Adapt Integrated Health Care has announced that its board of directors has selected Stephen Baron to be the organization’s next chief executive officer.

An Adapt release said Baron will officially assume the role on October 6th, following the retirement of CEO Dr. Gregory Brigham, who concludes a 43-year career in behavioral health, including the past decade of service to the communities of southwest Oregon through Adapt.

Adapt Board Chair Kelsey Wood said, “This moment marks a new chapter for Adapt”. Wood said, “We are confident that our new CEO will carry forward the incredible legacy of Dr. Greg Brigham and the organization’s values while strengthening its capacity to serve the people of Coos, Curry, Douglas and Josephine counties. Their experience and vision will be instrumental as Adapt continues to grow and respond to the evolving needs of the communities we serve”.

Dr. Brigham said, “This is a positive and exciting time for Adapt”. Dr Brigham said, “I am grateful for the support of our community and all we’ve accomplished together, and I look forward to supporting Stephen as he steps into this role – just as my predecessor, Bruce Piper, supported me. This next chapter is an opportunity to continue growing and serving our communities with integrity and care”.

The release said Mr. Baron will spend his first week’s meeting with internal teams, engaging with stakeholders, and attending the 2025 Oregon Council for Behavioral Health conference. An internal welcome event, public welcome event and media engagement period are scheduled to begin the week of October 20th.
