A Riddle man was jailed for a reported assault incident on Friday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 4:00 p.m. a victim claimed that an unknown man followed him home and then punched him in the face, causing physical injury and substantial pain. This allegedly took place in the 300 block of East Fourth Avenue in Riddle. The victim said that after he was punched, the suspect left the area in an unknown direction.

The victim was able to take a picture of the suspect vehicle. A deputy obtained security camera footage of the incident and identified the male suspect as a 40-year-old. The man was later located and refused to provide a statement. He was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree assault. The man was detained without bail.
