ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL TWO PEOPLE FOR STOLEN VEHICLE INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed two people as the result of a stolen vehicle incident on Friday.

An RPD report said shortly after 5:30 p.m. officers received information that a stolen vehicle was in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. Officers responded to the area and located the stolen SUV. Officers initiated a felony stop on the vehicle and detained the driver and two passengers.

The driver, a 29-year-old Sutherlin man admitted the vehicle did not belong to him. One of the passengers allegedly lied to officers about her name and was found to have a felony warrant for her arrest. Officers attempted to reach the registered owner of the vehicle but were unable to do so.

The driver was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was detained without bail. The woman was charged with the warrant and providing false information to a police officer. Bail was set at $25,000.
