IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild has a concert at the Millpond Recreation Site on Tuesday, September 9th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The event will commemorate the anniversary of the 2020 Archie Creek Fire. That fire swept over 125,000 acres in Douglas County, destroying 154 homes. On the site of an old logging mill pond along Rock Creek, the grassy field is surrounded by a scorched forest.

Attendees will get an up-close look at the relationship between fires and forest health, in the heart of Oregon’s logging country.

Thanks to IN A LANDSCAPE Roseburg Friends, the concert is a benefit to two local non-profit organizations – Forest Bridges and the Family Development Center.

For the 10th season, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild is touring the American west. Mountain tops, old-growth forests and sunny meadows replace the traditional concert hall in the series featuring pianist Hunter Noack on a 9-foot Steinway grand piano.

Tickets are $45 a person. Purchase them and get more information at: IN A LANDSCAPE: Millpond Recreation Site on Rock Creek – Millpond Recreation Site – September 9th 2025 | Afton Tickets
