On Monday, the Schofield Fire, burning near Reedsport, saw firefighters continuing aggressive mop up and grinding the fires perimeter for heat. An update from the Coos Forest Protective Association said firefighters continued to utilize wet ground conditions to aid this process. The fires perimeter showed no growth, holding at 50 acres with containment rising to 57 percent. Crews will continue to be in the area daily working towards 100 percent containment.
