ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR REPORTED BURGLARY INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported burglary incident on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 8:50 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Northeast Winchester Street after a victim’s juvenile son said he was hearing someone inside the home. The victim confirmed that no one should be inside the residence, besides his son. Once on scene, officers saw a 33-year-old inside the home, who had entered through a window.

Officers took the man into custody without incident after initially pointing their tasers at him. One in custody, officers learned that the suspect had been inside the residence for approximately three hours. He had cooked some eggs and eaten them, along with drinking out of two juice jugs.  The man also allegedly had some of the victim’s property inside his pockets.

The man was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree theft. He was detained without bail.
