Monday was the hottest day of the year so far in Roseburg, and the high temperature broke the record high for the date.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 105 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The record high for August 11th had been 104 degrees, set in 2014.
Tuesday should be the last triple-digit day for the foreseeable future with a high of around 100 degrees forecast. It’s not likely to break a record as the hottest August 12th was in 1935 when the high got to 106 degrees.
Forecasters said gradual cooling will begin on Wednesday with highs at near normal temperatures starting Thursday.
