Last week Governor Kotek signed HB 5006, a major appropriations bill that included $176,721 in funding for the Community Cancer Center in Roseburg.
The non-profit center, which provides high-quality radiation therapy services, will use the funds to significantly enhance its cancer treatment infrastructure.
State Representative Virgle Osborne said, “The funds secured for the Community Cancer will enhance its healthcare capabilities”. Osborne said, “Rural Oregon needs organizations like the Community Cancer Center – those that prioritize the well-being of our rural communities. This funding will help ensure that care continues and improves”.
Community Cancer Center Executive Director Tammy Turner said, “On behalf of the Community Cancer Center, I extend our deepest gratitude to Representative Virgle Osborne and his dedicated staff for their unwavering support of our mission”. Turner said the investment will enhance their ability to provide compassionate, high-quality cancer care and support services to those they serve. Turner said, “We are truly thankful for their partnership in advancing our vision of hope, healing, and strength for our community”.
