Adapt Integrated Health Care, HIV Alliance and Douglas Public Health Network will host the county’s 3rd annual International Overdose Awareness Day event on Saturday, August 23rd.

It will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Stewart Park Pavilion in Roseburg.

An Adapt release said the free, family-friendly event brings the community together to honor lives lost to overdose, support those in recovery, and raise awareness about prevention and hope.

This year’s theme is “One Big Family” to reflect the importance of connection, compassion and community support in responding to the overdose crisis.

Observed globally on August 31st, International Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest campaign to end overdose and reduce stigma around substance use.

Event highlights include:

*Free community barbecue to enjoy a meal while connecting with others in a welcoming atmosphere
