DFPA CREWS DEAL WITH DOLE ROAD FIRE ON SATURDAY

August 10, 2025 1:45 p.m. 

Crews with the Douglas Forest Protection Association dealt with a fire on Dole Road near Interstate 5 in the area of the Clarks Branch Road exit on Saturday.

DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said ground and aviation resources quickly contained the forward spread of the 2.8 acre fire which was reported shortly after 11:10 am. Pope said the fire was 100 percent mopped up and cleared by 3:15pm.

DFPA was assisted by South Umpqua Fire Department, Riddle Fire Department, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, Myrtle Creek Fire Department, Tri City Fire Department and the Oregon State Police.

The cause of the Dole Road Fire is under investigation, but it has been determined to be human-caused and vehicle related.
