August 8, 2025 3:30 p.m.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 8:00 a.m. Sunday to 2:00 a.m. Tuesday for Central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said hot temperatures will be between 100 and 105 degrees with very warm overnight temperatures of 65 to 70 degrees.

The Advisory area includes portions of the Umpqua Basin and applies to the communities of Roseburg, Camas Valley, Elkton, Drain, Sutherlin, Glendale, Riddle and Coquille.

Forecasters said unusually hot temperatures will increase the risk of heat illnesses. Warm overnight temperatures will provide little relief from daytime temperatures.

Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke are seen.
