Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident on Thursday night.

An RPD report said at 11:30 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of Southeast Mill Street. Officers learned the 41-year-old man reportedly hit the victim the face several times and bit her finger after a disagreement. The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $6,250.
