A Drain man was jailed for an alleged eluding incident on Wednesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 6:30 p.m. a deputy observed a motorcycle being operated by 37-year-old Chris Ursynow in the 300 block of North 1st Street in Drain. Once turned around, the deputy attempted to overtake the motorcycle but was not able to locate it.
The deputy learned from citizens in the area that Ursynow was headed up Jack Creek. The deputy responded to the 300 block of Lazidaze Road, knowing the suspect lives in that area. The deputy saw Ursynow on his bike and activated his lights, but the man eluded him.
The deputy did not pursue but a few moments later located the man looking down a nearby embankment. Ursynow was ultimately arrested after a short struggle. He was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, resisting arrest, and driving while suspended or revoked. Ursynow was detained without bail.
