ABOVE NORMAL HIGHS START FRIDAY, HOTTEST ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY

The Umpqua Valley will see above normal high temperatures starting Friday, with the mercury peaking on Sunday and Monday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the region will enjoy normal high temperatures for early August on Wednesday and Thursday before conditions start to heat up on Friday and Saturday.

Forecasters said high pressure will lead to elevated heat risk for southwest Oregon Sunday and Monday with Roseburg expected to be at or over 100 degrees on both days while the Medford area may get to 107 degrees or above. In fact, Roseburg may see the hottest day of 2025 so far Monday with the high forecast to be 103 degrees. The hottest day of the year to this point was June 9th when it got to 101 degrees.

The normal high temperature for this week in August in Roseburg is 87 degrees. The Roseburg Regional Airport recorded a high temperature of 88 degrees on Tuesday.
