Roseburg Police jailed a man for a DUII incident at the Douglas County Courthouse early on Wednesday morning.
An RPD report said just before 1:10 a.m. the 56-year-old was seen driving around the jail via security footage in the parking lot, in the 1000 block of Southeast Douglas Avenue. The man was contacted outside the deputy entrance to the jail. Officers arrived on scene, took over the investigation, and noticed the man displayed signs of impairment.
The man did not consent to standard field sobriety tests. An officer arrested the man and transported him to corrections where he reportedly refused a breath sample. A search warrant was authored and signed by a Circuit Court Judge. The man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where the warrant for two vials of blood was conducted.
The man was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while suspended. Bail was set at $2,000. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
