Roseburg Police jailed a man for trespassing and cited him for drinking on Tuesday afternoon.

An RPD report said just before 5:30 p.m. officers responded after a caller said a man was threatening other people at a business in the 1300 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The officer observed the 64-year-old sitting in an area with a no trespass sign and trying to conceal an open beer can. When the man was told to pour out his beer, he allegedly elected to argue and drink from a straw that was placed inside the beer can.

The property manager was contacted and stated she would pursue charges for trespassing. The man was charged with second-degree trespass and was detained on $1,000 bail. He was cited for drinking in public.
