A juvenile driver was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle wreck on Tuesday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s report said at 10:45 p.m. the 17-year-old was operating the sedan eastbound on Tiller Trail Highway when the vehicle left the road on the south side of the road near the intersection with Ida Lane in the Canyonville area. The report said it appeared that the driver attempted to correct the vehicle while on the shoulder. The vehicle then rolled and continued traveling approximately 270 feet where it came to rest.

The juvenile appeared to have likely been ejected from the sedan during the rollover and sustained life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for his injuries and was later transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield.

A towing company responded to recover the vehicle. Douglas Fast Net and Douglas County Public Works were notified of the damage to their property.
