A group of community partners are presenting free Building Tomorrow Together – Back to School Bashes in August.

Hosted by Umpqua Health, in partnership with Thrive Umpqua, Douglas Education Service District, Roseburg Public Schools and the South Umpqua School District, organizers say the events will offer something for everyone. That includes family fun, free food and haircuts, cost-free youth vaccines, and sports physicals. There will also be school supplies giveaways, live performances, community resources and a lot of school spirit!

They will be held:

*Saturday, August 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Roseburg High School

*Thursday, August 21st from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at South Umpqua High School

The events include games, raffle prizes, and activities for all ages including Thundering Water’s WOWTruck with a bike pump track, climbing wall, and Arrow Tag. There will also be interactive booths from over 30 organizations. Clubs, sports teams and student groups will showcase ways to get supported.

Umpqua Health Community Engagement Manager Vanessa Moser said, “Our goal is to bring the community together and ensure every student feels supported and excited heading into the new school year”. Moser said, “These events are about more than just kicking off the new school year – they’re about connection, celebration, and lifting up our families and youth together as a community”.
