Roseburg Police jailed a man for a restraining order violation on Friday.

An RPD report said at 5:45 p.m. officers contacted the 49-year-old in the 2100 block of Northeast Freemont Avenue after developing probable cause to arrest him, when he allegedly contacted the protected person a few minutes he was served with the restraining order.

He was contacted in the 2100 block of Northeast Freemont Avenue, where he initially hid in the attic. The man came out after being told that a police K9 was on the scene. He was taken into custody. Bail was set at $5,000.
