Roseburg Police charged a man following a spanking incident on Wednesday.

An RPD report said just after 7:30 p.m. officers responded to the 2100 block of Southeast Balsam Avenue. A report said the 31-year-old had spanked two children, causing egregious bruising. The man was temporarily watching the children while their mother was at work. The report said the children had bright red and purple bruising that covered their entire buttocks.

The man was charged with two counts of harassment. Bail was set at $5,000.
