A commercial motor vehicle crashed on Interstate 5 southbound in the Canyonville area early Wednesday morning.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 5:15 a.m. a trooper responded to the wreck near milepost 95. The vehicle had failed to negotiate a sweeping left-hand turn and impacted the guardrail before crashing through the guardrail and rolling onto its side. The CMV was hauling a load of sheet rock when it overturned, spilling most of the load. The driver, a 42-year-old Ferndale, Washington man, claimed that mechanical issues caused the crash. He received a citation/warning from OSP.
