One person is deceased, and a Douglas County Major Crimes Team investigation is underway following a shooting in Sutherlin late Sunday night.

A Sutherlin Police report said at approximately 11:40 p.m. officers and medical personnel were dispatched after a caller said a person had been shot at a residence in the 800 block of West First Avenue. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This is currently an ongoing investigation. There is no public threat at this time. Anyone with information regarding the shooting, is asked to contact SPD at 459-2211.
