Roseburg Police jailed a man for attempting to elude police in a vehicle on Friday night.

An RPD report said at 7:50 p.m. officers tried to stop a Harley Davidson motorcycle for excessive speed near the intersection of West Harvard Avenue and Northwest Stewart Park Drive, but the driver eluded. Officers did not initially pursue the suspect, due to the amount of people on Harvard Avenue, but eventually located the suspect on Old Melrose Road.

Officers attempted to stop the rider again near San Souci Road, but he reportedly eluded again. The man eventually stopped after a few miles and was taken into custody without incident.
