A Heat Advisory remains in effect from 2:00 p.m. Saturday through 8:00 p.m. Sunday for parts of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that temperatures of up to 102 degrees are expected.
The Advisory area includes central Douglas County and its eastern foothills. It applies to the cities of Roseburg, Drain, Elkton, Sutherlin, Green, Myrtle Creek, Canyonville, Glendale, Steamboat and Toketee Falls.
Forecasters said hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur. Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
The mercury reached 89 degrees on Friday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
