Roseburg Police jailed a man for allegedly tampering with a witness on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 5:00 p.m. officers responded after the victim claimed the 37-year-old had violated a no contact order by calling the victim while he was lodged in jail. The man was reportedly trying to convince the woman to drop the charges that he was previously arrested on. The phone call was recorded, and the man was charged with the additional crimes.

The man was charged with tampering with a witness and violating a no-contact order. His bail is currently set at $50,000.
