July 2, 2025 10:50 a.m.

Roseburg Police cited eight people for prohibited camping on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 10:00 a.m. all of the subjects, ranging in age from 18 to 60 were camping in their vehicles or in travel trailers in the parking lot of the former Albertson’s store in the 3000 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway, and had been doing so for at least four days.

The report said this has been an issue for some time and the city compliance officer was able to get a warrant signed to remove any vehicles, recreational vehicles, or travel trailers on the property. Everyone was given an opportunity to remove their vehicle before it was towed.

All eight people were cited and released on scene.
