A transient was jailed for an allegedly disorderly conduct incident on Saturday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said 24-year-old Anthony Price was called in two times in the early morning for walking in the roadway and waving a large knife around in the Myrtle Creek area. Price was contacted and warned to stay out of the roadway.
At 12:50 p.m. dispatchers received an additional call from a victim who said that she had chased him off her property, after finding him there, still holding the knife. She followed him until deputies arrived in the area. Price’s parole officer was contacted and authorized a detainer. When deputies tried to contact the man, he took off running and hid in a chicken coop. Price was challenged by deputies and decided to surrender after about 10 minutes.
He was taken into custody after being medically cleared. Price was charged with second-degree counts of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, attempting to commit a Class A misdemeanor and a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
