Douglas County non-profit organizations recently received over $90,000 in grants from The Three Rivers Foundation.

The charitable arm of Three Rivers Casino awarded $720,000 in grants to 60 organizations across Oregon. A release said from rural fire departments to food pantries, youth advocacy programs to mental health services, the foundation’s annual grants continue to create a lasting impact.

The foundation was established by the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians to give back to communities. Each year, funds generated through casino revenue are reinvested in the region through grants to nonprofits.

At a luncheon held on June 3rd at the Three Rivers Casino in Florence, representatives from all the nonprofits gathered to receive their checks.

Ten Douglas County non-profits received grants ranging from $20,000 to $5,000. The organizations included CASA of Douglas County, the Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels, Gardiner Fire Department, Sutherlin-Oakland Emergency Food Pantry, Kellogg Rural Fire District, Winchester Bay Rural Fire Protection District, Reedsport Volunteer Fire Department, Source One Serenity and St. Francis Xavier Conference of St. Vincent de Paul.
