A Dillard woman was jailed following a reported strangulation incident early Saturday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 12:30 a.m. deputies responded to a fight in the front yard of a residence in the 100 block of 2nd Street in Dillard. It was discovered that 34-year-old Alexsis Dees had attempted to drive drunk in her vehicle. A victim attempted to stop her.
The two allegedly began to fight with the victim attempting to defend himself. At one point, witnesses reportedly saw Dees choke the victim with both hands around his neck. A Winston Police officer detained the suspect who slipped her cuffs and tried to get away from law enforcement. Dees was placed on the ground and re-detained. Both parties did not wish to speak about what had happened.
Based on what a deputy could prove, Dees was charged with strangulation, resisting arrest, and second-degree disorderly conduct. She was detained without bail.
