Roseburg Police have charged two store managers with first-degree aggravated theft and other counts.

An RPD report said Friday at 10:30 a.m. patrol officers received initial information regarding a large-scale theft of Oregon Lottery tickets from Lil Pantry Market & Deli in the 2600 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard. Further investigation revealed that approximately 2,600 lottery tickets had been reportedly stolen from the store, with a value totaling approximately $54,000.

The managers were identified as 48-year-old Jessica Handy of Sutherlin and 40-year- old Robert Gurule of Roseburg. Both people redeemed tickets throughout the commission of the alleged thefts. Two of the winning tickets associated with Gurule’s  involvement were reportedly redeemed for $40,000 each. The report said these tickets were redeemed exactly one month apart from one another and were serially tracked to Lil Pantry.

Handy and Gururle were also charged with first-degree theft, criminal conspiracy and computer crime. They were detained without bail and were released on Sunday.
