ROSEBURG POLICE CITE TWO PEOPLE FOR LITTERING INCIDENT

Roseburg Police cited two people for a littering incident on Tuesday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 12:50 p.m. officers contacted a 44-year-old man at his camp below the frisbee golf course near the 1400 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive. The camp was about 40 feet from the edge of the South Umpqua River. The man allegedly had trash scattered all around his camp and tent site.

Officers contacted a 23-year-old woman at an adjacent camp with an axe in her hand. Camping is prohibited at all times in this area. It is prohibited to possess an axe within city parks.

The man was cited for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway and prohibited camping. The woman was cited for prohibited weapons, tools and implements on city property. Both were released after the citations were issued. The woman’s axe was seized as evidence.
