Roseburg Police jailed a Medford man for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and failure to carry and present, early Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 4:25 a.m. officers stopped an SUV for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 near the Garden Valley Boulevard Exit 125. The driver, 52-year-old Donald Jacobson, had no identification and was detained. He was reportedly found to be in possession of a usable amount of methamphetamine. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located approximately 3.1 grams of suspected meth and approximately nine ounces of marijuana.

Jacobson’s license was suspended in Oregon. A 63-year-old passenger, a Gold Hill man, returned on parole out of Jackson County but officers were unable to reach his parole officer. The man had a felony revoked license.

Jacobson was detained without bail. He was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure of a previous violator to file. Jacobson was released later in the day.
