ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL WOMAN FOR ALLEGED DUII/DRUGS INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a woman for an alleged DUII and drugs incident on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 3:30 p.m. 31-year-old Samantha Bays was allegedly seen smoking out of a glass pipe while she was driving on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Officers contacted Bays at the intersection of Northeast Winchester Street and Northeast Odell Avenue.

She consented to standard field sobriety tests and reportedly performed poorly. Bays was taken to corrections where she provided a urine sample before being lodged. A search of her vehicle allegedly revealed a concealed firearm and nearly 7 grams of fentanyl, along with scales and packaging.

Bays was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession and distribution of a Schedule II controlled substance. Bays was detained without bail. She was also cited for driving while suspended.
