A Roseburg man was taken to the hospital after being run over by his Jeep on Wednesday.

A Sutherlin Police Department report said at approximately 11:45 a.m. a couple were parked in their motor home with their Jeep hitched to the back at a gas station near the 100 block of Hutchings Street. The man unhooked the Jeep. It was in neutral and began to roll backwards headed towards West Central Avenue.

The man attempted to get into the driver’s seat and stop the vehicle. The Jeep continued to roll down the slope going west when the man lost his footing and tripped. The vehicle rolled over him, causing injuries to his chest, side and arm. His wife was not injured but had fallen while trying to assist her husband.

The man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg. He is listed in stable condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson. The woman moved the motor home before driving the Jeep to the hospital to be with her husband.
