ROSEBURG COULD SEE HOTTEST DAY OF 2025 SO FAR ON THURSDAY

May 1, 2025 4:10 a.m.

Roseburg could see the hottest day of the year so far on Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury is expected to reach 85 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That would slightly eclipse the previous afternoon high this year, which was 84 degrees on April 14th.

The record high for May 1st is 93 degrees, set in 1947.

The hot weather is expected to be brief, however. Forecasters said Friday will see increasing clouds and a high in the low to mid 70s. Showers are forecast to begin Friday night and stick around through most of Saturday. Sunday the sunshine is back, but high temperatures will only be in the mid-60s.

The National Weather Service said pleasant weather and dry conditions are forecast for next week. Highs should be between the mid 70’s and the low to mid 80’s for several days.
