A transient was jailed for a warrant and cited for a drug charge early Wednesday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:30 a.m. the 26-year-old was spotted sleeping in Pioneer Park, in the 300 block of Canyon Street in Canyonville. A deputy contacted her to warn her of prohibited camping. She provided information and was found to have an active felony warrant for her arrest. The woman was taken into custody and consented to a search of her extra sweatshirts. Prior to the search, she advised that she had heroin in a small piece of foil. Deputies located the foil containing 0.65 grams of heroin near where she was previously sleeping.
The woman was lodged for the warrant and cited and released for unlawful possession of heroin. She was detained without bail.
